While floating down the river in a kayak with friends one summer, I was amazed at the amount of damselflies that flew in close to my boat to land. They landed on me, my oar, my boat, and those that didn't fit flitted along beside me as we went. There had to have been at least a hundred of them. The rippling water and the shimmer of their wings was magical. It left an impression on me and I was inspired to carve this edition of prints.
