I was inspired on Arbor Day of 2021 to paint these small tree tile paintings. My state tree is the Dogwood and I wanted to recreate the blankets of white and green that I see in the spring. The gold of Ginkgos and their fruit was also considered. The Tulip Poplar design was the precursor to another work called Illuminus.
