In July of 2025, my master's degree culminated in my thesis presentation "Hatching Flamingo Eggs" which documents my development of my serial comic "Life in the Flamingo's Nest." Along with work on my serial comic, I created an installation experience to view my work complete with an 8' by 12' backdrop tiled together from 24" strip printouts. Viewers could approach and see my sketches, materials, and my thesis book. I designed my "Hatching Flamingo Eggs" thesis book to contain my progression photos as well as interesting facts and historical accounts of how comics have become an integral but underrated part of our culture. My focus with the design was to integrate design aesthetics from the 1920's and '30's with a contemporary layout. I employed humanist designed fonts, custom designed page tabs, and the unifying symbol of the flamingo logo throughout the book.
