Named so for the transient nature of life, the Ukiyo culture of Edo, Japan produced detailed records of society's daily life in their colorful block prints of geishas, kabuki actors, samurai, and scenic views of their country. Participants will see an interactive history of how the process came about and is still practiced today. Lana brings authentic artifacts from her collection to showcase this craftsmanship which include vintage block printed books, moku hanga prints, and tools used in this process. his incredibly versatile water-based print practice can be packed into a travel bag or set up on any tabletop for mobile printing.
